Diplomatic /Political Relations 

Formal diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and Suriname were established in November 2012. 

Embassy of Suriname in New Delhi is concurrently accredited to Sri Lanka. As member of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and the G77, the two countries could cooperate closely at international for a, particularly at the UN on various international issues of common concern.
