DIPLOMATIC/POLITICAL - URUGUAY 

Formal diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and Uruguay were established on 21 July, 1999.  

Bilateral Visits 

• Dr. Rajitha Senaratne, Minister of Health, Nutriation and Indegenious Medicine has participated the “World Global Conference on NCDs, held in Uruguay, on 17-20 October 2017.
• Hon. Neomal Perera, Deputy Minister of External Affairs visited Uruguay in August 2011.
• Hon. Dr. Sarath Amunugama, Senior Minister for International Monetary Co-operation visited Uruguay in September 2011.
